100th Day of School

Mrs. Bouchard's class celebrated the 100th day of school with "100 crowns". Such fun to have visitors come to the office.

Cougar visits JES

Teachers have shared over 100,000 positive comments with JES students so far this year. To celebrate, the high school mascot visited our school on Tuesday.

Math Residency

The principal, the math coach, and the enrichment teacher have been teaching for a week with each classroom teacher. Here is the principal and a second grade teacher.

School Trip To The Flynn Theatre

The whole school attended the production of Skippyjon Jones. What a great show.

Cold Filtered Water

We now have a water fountain that provides cold, filtered water. It has a place to fill water bottes.
It keeps track of how many bottles we have saved. Stop by to fill your water bottle when you are in the building.

Taste Testing

Great news. JES students participated in our first taste test for the school year.  Everyone got a chance to try three bean chili.

Math Instruction @ JES

During these first few months of school, we have been working to improve mathematics learning for all our students at JES.  We have implemented data teams at each grade level. These teams meet once every 5 weeks to look at student work and plan instruction to meet the needs of our learners.  We look closely at the work in order to learn how our students are thinking. We have also been exploring using math menu options for students to meet a variety of needs. This is exciting work.
